Couldn’t wait to share this with you guys! Today I got Rochelle!

Her straight out the box hair was awful though so I had to give it a wash. I’m a little bit worried she’s got the glue problem as it was a little greasy at the base of her neck but we shall see.

She also has slightly wonky eyes that I didn’t notice until I got her out of the box :| Still beautiful though and tbf I don’t mind my slightly defective dollies. I mean at least she doesn’t have two left hands xD

I have had to hunt and go through all sorts of annoyance and walking around stores, and getting disappointed for my dolls too.

I really want a Frankie and I haven’t been able to find one even though I actually like the majority of her versions (the only one I’m not that fussed about is the B&W Skull Shores one) but I don’t go around to anyone else who has her and say “Hey sell or trade me yours” because if they wanted to do that I’m sure they’d put out a post stating their intention.

I don’t know I just find it kind of rude when I’ve spent time and energy finding and styling my dolls (because I have a tendency not to like their hair straight out of the box) and then feeling like I don’t want to share pictures because whenever I do I get people asking me to just sell them or trade.

So once again if I don’t want one anymore I’ll tell you all. Until then you can offer me whatever the heck you want but I won’t be getting rid of a single one.

Awwwh anon, don’t worry about it. It really winds me up seeing people being mean or rude when it would be so much easier to just be nice.

I just think that if anyone else who roleplays is like me they’re just going to be more inclined to spam the tags if people are childish and rude than if people ask them nicely.

And you’re right, I don’t think the roleplayers realised and I stick by my point that they’re just doing as many other fandoms do the only problem is that they’re forgetting that we’re a lot smaller and therefore they need to be careful how many posts they make in the tag in a day.

Telling the ask blogs to “fuck off my tag” or that they’re “useless” and whatever other verbal abuse you guys have been giving them is pathetic. No…

I don’t mind people role-playing and I don’t mind people posting their opinions. However I do mind when my tumblr has a sudden influx of crap and a lot of it was just that…crap.

This is why I am suggesting those people who do not want to read that type of thing block the specific blogs from their tumblr so they cannot see it.

If I came across obnoxious or rude then I do apologise, however by posting the way some of these people with ask blogs are posting is highly obnoxious to the hundreds of thousands of readers the monster high tab gets.

Honestly your posts were the politest I saw and I didn’t want to single people out, I just remembered a few quotes I thought were particularly stand out to me.

Honestly tagging your roleplay with the fandom in which you are roleplaying is not actually that obnoxious in the grand scheme of Tumblr. Most ask blogs do. However I think people forget how the Monster High community is a lot smaller than say Homestuck, so whereas if you own a Homestuck Ask Blog and you post five or six things a day nobody thinks “Oh you’re filling the tag with your crap” because the other posts dilute it so much.

However when you’re in a fandom where you can go on the tag once a day and there’s only 10 new pages rather than 100 it is different and my fellow roleplayers do need to realize this and not let their posts saturate a tag that in comparison to most other fandom tags really isn’t very fast moving.

But honestly compare “Please can you band together and come up with your own tag for your roleplays and only use the fandom one maybe once a week or fortnight when you’re looking for collectors who might not know about the ask blogs and want to join in because there are people here who don’t want to see every post you make. I hope that’s okay. Thank you.” to “Fuck off out of my tag” if you were in a position where you were being told your posts were clogging up a tag which would you be more likely to respond positively to, really?

I myself set up an ask blog. I enjoy roleplaying and find it interesting. I also follow a bunch of the ask blogs from mine because I like to read that stuff. I will be tagging my posts as “ask Monster High” though because otherwise nobody who is interested will notice. However I use the Monster High tags to check out doll pictures and news and there are a lot of people on those tags that do the same.

I understand that one ask blog posting one or two posts wasn’t a big deal but with a lot more people getting in on it it has gotten annoying, and the posts are really clogging up the tags and that’s not okay with some people.

However there are twodecent, polite and kind ways to go about it;

1. you can download Tumblr saviour and hide thier blogs so you don’t have to see.
2. You could make a polite post that you would appreciate them not spamming up the tag please.

Or you can do what you’re all doing and be rude and obnoxious but trust me that actually makes me want to spam the tag myself and I wasn’t even planning on tagging very much at all.

Also people who run ask blogs; Whilst I thoroughly disagree with the way people are expressing thier annoyance how about we all team up and populate the “Ask Monster High” tag and let people know that’s what we’re doing?

That way people can find each other and have fun without annoying other collectors and fans and then everyone is happy? Yes?

And I don’t mind directing newbies over to our tag but if others could too that would be fantastic.

I have seen a lot of people posting about this in the Monster High tag. We also got an anonymous submission that seems to have been sent to all the MH blogs. I didn’t post it, as it is very over exaggerated and claiming ALL dolls from Indonesia are having this issue. This is NOT true.

I have several dolls from Indonesia, most of which I have had for over the month or so most people have been claiming it takes for the glue to melt. I have dolls that are much older and were received through trade or bought that don’t have this issue. Inky also hasn’t noticed this on any of her dolls, and her apartment gets really hot.

I have both a Spectra and Rochelle, both which I have heard are the most common glue leakers. Neither of them have been affected, and my Spectra even sits under my lamp.

The only one I’ve noticed to have any issue was a Gloom Beach Draculaura I bought for Inky, the other mod. I found her at a Kohl’s who was remodeling, and had apparently found a whole box of them. The thing is, we’re pretty sure it wasn’t even the glue, just hair “grease”. It felt like if you don’t wash your hair for a while, not sticky.

While we have heard of this happening, is doesn’t seem to be as wide spread as most people are making it out to be. So, if you HAVE experienced this, let us know! We want to get an accurate reading on how many people and how many dolls have run into this issue.

My sister pack Clawdeen has AWFUL hair, it’s not sticky though, just greasy and it smells really weird, the closest thing I can use to describe it is like an antique/vintage store that doesn’t clean the things they’re selling properly.

The rest of my dolls are fine though and many of them were made in indonesia.

Oh my gosh I want them all.
